All About Me

Hello to all of my visitors!  I first want to thank you for coming around and visiting my site here.  It was a process in the making, but I think that I can be proud of my creation thus far.  My name is Ingrid, but most call me by my middle name Elynette and if you are on the New Kids Network you have probably seen some of my work floating around on the site and especially on the art forum.  I've been a BH (Blockhead) since the tender age of 7 (1988) and I've been doing graphic designs since about 2002.

The thought of putting together this page came pretty naturally after the NKOTB reunion.  I started doing designs for my page on my other graphics webpage, then the NK network, which then lead to submissions to the art forum, which finally led to me thinking that I should actually have a website dedicated solely to those designs that I have previously posted, and some new designs when the inspiration hits me.  Plus I love sharing my artwork out there with people that I know can appreciate it!

As you can tell from the photo above, I am a Donnie girl, although lately Jon has been catching my eye... he is quite the charmer when you meet him.  I was actually more nervous after meeting him than I was when I was posing for that picture with Donnie, so that nervous smile was the product of the Silent Knight.  I am also one of the original/founding members of the Blocksicles we're a small group of 3 and are hoping to expand soon.  For more information on the Blocksicles, visit our website at http://www.blocksicle.com.  Our logo is actually a design I came up one night after "piggybacking" with my other two blocksies withakay and valentinegirl20.  We also have a signature "popsicle" that we created with the guys that you'll see in our group photos, don't be fooled by any imitators, lol!

Personality wise I am a pretty laid back kinda gal.  I try to avoid the drama that both the real world and NK world is unfortunately plagued with.  I get a long with many of the fans that I meet and try to take the "million sisters" ideology and apply it when dealing with fellow fans, and I do get disappointed when I see that some "sisters" forget about that and try to take each other down.  I've seen it happen to a couple of my friends and it is just heartbreaking to watch it all unfold.

I don't mind sharing with you all, but I DO mind when my hard work is taken and credit is not given.  I try to keep my tagging of my artwork to be very minimal (e.g. just the INC, BHG or INCGrfx posted on it) so that the actual art can be appreciated without some type of watermark to be thrown across it to make sure people know its my work.  However, this does not mean that I condone or support in ANY way the stealing of my artwork or any other duplication of it without giving me credit.  A lot of these designs took HOURS to put together, I am very picky about what I put out there and many of my designs are done in stages until I am satisfied with the final outcome.  I don't think that I can stress this part enough!  I have had my designs taken, slightly changed (colors, font type, etc.), and reposted as someone else's work without even so much as a "thank you" from that person.  Words cannot describe the anger I feel when I see that happen.  Imitation is the best form of flattery, but plagiarism is just WRONG and DISRESPECTFUL.  I ask that if you do see my work posted somewhere else and someone is taking credit for it, please let me know.  I do have my work encrypted with as much info as I can to make sure I know where my stuff is going, but thieves do get smarter and take that info off.  Really, with as much time as it takes to take this info off, you could have designed something yourself!

I do some customized requests, but please know that I do have a full-time job and I do this in my free time so it may take some time for me to put together something for you.  I try to keep the costs of doing these custom jobs down (no more than $10) when it comes to avatars and some backgrounds (twitter, myspace, etc.) ... BUT (and its a big one) if it is something that you want that is super complicated or very time consuming I will charge a higher fee, but nothing astronomical. If you are interested in having custom work done, please contact me at blockheadhgraphics@gmail.com .

I enjoy helping others, but I don't enjoy being taken advantage of.  I just hope that people take the time to read all of this :\
